Aftercare
Healing takes about 2–4 weeks. Follow these steps and ask if anything looks off.
First few days
- Leave the Saniderm on for 24-48 hours. It’s easiest to remove in the shower. You can shower but not swim.
- Once the Saniderm comes off, clean a few times a day with unscented soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Next two weeks
- Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion 2–3 times a day or as needed for itchiness. This is important so the tattoo does not scab excessively and flake off.
- Do not pick or scratch; let flaking happen on its own.
- No soaking (baths, pools, hot tubs, ocean) and no direct sun.
Long term
- Sunscreen keeps lines crisp, especially for the first 3-4 months as the skin is still healing. Touch-ups are free, but please wait at least 3 months after getting the tattoo.
Heads up: Signs of infection (spreading redness, heat, pus, fever) mean see a doctor, then let me know.
